CARMA was founded in 1977 and was the first Measurement Canada approved supplier of electronic submetering systems (electricity, water, gas, thermal and EV charging), and has since installed over 350,000 meters and have over 150,000 suites under contract.
We provide submetering systems, billing services, and consumption data for cost recovery and sustainability reporting to residential, commercial, and institutional buildings nationwide.
We receive over 7,000,000 meter reads daily and have local representatives across the country with offices in Lindsay, Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver.
We are currently seeking a Manager of Data Operations to join our team in Lindsay, ON.
**General Description**:
Reporting directly to the Director of Meter Dev Ops & IT the Manager of Data Operations assumes a crucial role within our organization, tasked with supervising the analytics division and guiding a team of data specialists. Your primary responsibility includes transforming and consolidating our raw meter data into bill-ready format while delivering valuable business insights on any data irregularities or deficiencies. You possess the capacity to introduce cutting-edge automated technologies to streamline operations and modernize analytical processes. Additionally, you will lead a proficient team in establishing standards, methodologies, tools, and KPI metrics aimed at enhancing the reliability of our data assets. This role entails close collaboration with field operations teams to prioritize and address meter data issues, as well as with billing teams to ensure data availability.

This position requires excellent leadership and analytical skills. As the Manager of Data Operations, you will spearhead the analytics function within our organization, overseeing a team of data analysts. Your main focus will be on transitioning raw meter data into bill-ready information and driving valuable insights. Leveraging advanced technologies, you’ll modernize analysis processes and ensure data integrity while collaborating closely with field operations and billing teams. This role demands a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership capabilities to drive data-driven insights and excellence within the organization.

The Director of Meter Dev Ops & IT will assign, monitor, and review performance goals and objectives and weekly work schedules.
**Important and essential Duties**:
The duties of this position include assistance with, but are not limited to, the following:
- Data Collection and Analysis_
- Formulate strategies to enhance data analysis and reporting effectiveness, encompassing the design and implementation of methodologies, techniques, and tools:
- Create tailored reports and presentations, emphasizing robust data visualization and storytelling.
- Develop a roadmap for the integration of automated technologies into data analysis processes.
- Ensure the punctual and precise delivery of meter data by supervising data collection across various Data Management systems;
- Implement processes to uphold high data integrity through meticulous control, audit, and validation of data capture, estimation, and validation procedures;
- Analyze data usage patterns and trends to pinpoint exceptions and abnormal behavior, generating routine reports and dashboards to offer insights into data usage metrics;
- Drive innovation and establish best practices, standards, and methodologies for advanced analytics and data availability, rectifying discrepancies and upholding data quality;
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to address concerns related to data usage and metering, defining and implementing key performance indicators, tools, and support mechanisms to bolster data integrity and availability;
- Engage with IT, Field Operations, and Engineering teams to oversee the performance of meter data management systems, initiating necessary actions for optimal functionality.
- Team Leadership_
- Provide leadership and mentorship to a team comprising data analysts, metering specialists, and project coordinators, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment dedicated to continuous improvement and excellence including supporting Meter DevOps team so that they are able to:
- Complete thorough review of systems implemented & document;
- Seek software support when required, initiate support cases, and participate in troubleshooting and recommended best practices;
- Work closely with users and internal stakeholders to develop clear specifications;
- Prepare training manuals for users
- Provide monthly reports on progress and completion of development/project milestones.
