**Position Summary**

The Manager is responsible for all functions related to the daily and long-term management of Health Information and will ensure that Hospital data quality expectations adhere to the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI) standards. The Manager will work with hospital departments and programs to ensure data and information required for programs is available, verified and meets reporting standards. The Manager will also act as the Hospital's Privacy Officer.

As Privacy Officer, the Manager will be the designated contact person regarding access requests, privacy related inquiries and complaints, and information and Privacy Commissioner (IPC) investigations and will be responsible for ensuring the Hospital meets its privacy obligations under the Personal Health Information Protection Act, 2004 (PHIPA).

**Essential Qualifications**
- Certified Member in good standing with CHIMA, Canadian Health Information Management Association
- Undergraduate degree in a related field (e.g. epidemiology) or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Minimum three years of management experience
- Minimum five to seven years current experience in acute care health information data analysis and reporting
- Demonstrated knowledge of Epic, Med2020 Coding/Abstracting system (Winrecs) or related software and knowledge
- Knowledge of hospital funding models, i.e. QBP, Wait Time Information System (WTIS), MIS guidelines
- Expertise in health information management as it relates to CIHI client database systems
- Demonstrated critical analysis, strong organization and project management skills
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and cooperatively with all levels of staff, patients, and the public
- Demonstrated ability to thrive under pressure
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize competing workload demands
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and to establish and build effective working relationships
- Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance record
- Must be able to fulfill the physical requirements of the jobs, as per the current Physical Demands Analysis

**Hours of Work**

Hours of work for the Manager position are 37.5 hours/week, Monday to Friday. Flexibility of hours of work is required and is based on department needs.
