The Dow Chemical Company has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Health Safety & Stainability (EHS&S) Student Technicians in Fort Saskatchewan, AB. The EHS&S Technician provides hands-on support and leadership for Health & Safety Environmental, Industrial Hygiene, and Reactive Chemicals activities for a specific operational unit or area/s. This role is accountable to the EHS&S Delivery Leader and the Site EHS&S Responsible Care Leader for the responsibility for the implementation of the EHS&S management systems (work processes, standards, procedures).

This includes pursuing efficient operations that drive environmental benefits for our communities and help us lead the transition to a sustainable planet and society.

Also, you can complete each of the following tasks:

- Implements detailed, task level, day-to-day EHS&S (Environmental, Industrial Hygiene, Safety & Reactive Chemicals, Health Services) programs, using the EH&S work process, standards, and procedures.
- Acts as the unit/area resource for related EH&S information on procedures, guidelines, and standards. Plant/area contact for environmental, Industrial Hygiene, Health, Safety, reactive chemical issues. Coaches' teams and individuals on EHS&S related tasks and activities.
- Coaches teams and individuals on EHS&S related tasks and activities.
- Knowledge of all regulatory, permit, and company requirements for areas of responsibility
- Assists in developing and achieving unit/area MI Plan EH&S goals.
- Ensures compliance related tasks are completed in the unit/area.
- Performs / coordinates certain environmental, Industrial Hygiene and reactive chemical monitoring, data collection, analyzing and reporting for the unit/area.
- As required, participates in the environmental, Industrial Hygiene, Health, Safety and reactive chemical related reviews, projects, or audits.

Required Qualifications:

- A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Working knowledge of all EHS&S tasks and activities as related to standards/requirements.
- Understand issues that impact company environmental goals.
- Excellent computer skills to work with all EHS WP and tools.
- Strong Interpersonal, Facilitative, and Organizational skills.
- Effectively interacts with multiple functions and diverse groups to achieve goals.
- Effectively manages multiple competing priorities.
- Able to work with independently with mínimal supervision within an empowered team environment.
- Have a high regard for personal safety and the safety of others.
- Willing to work overtime and nightshifts if required.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- A minimum requirement for this Canada based position is the ability to work legally in the Canada. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position.

Your preferred qualifications include:

- Two-year diploma/degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a closely related field, or the completion of a related industrial training program.
- Related work experiences.
- Excellent understanding of OH&S regulations.
