Responsibilities
- Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times.
- Working with the Sr. Director, Health and Safety-directly manage a team of Health and Safety professionals supporting the Oil Sand district.
- In coordination with District Leaders, a significant percentage of this role will be to attend and conduct Health and Safety site inspections and audits ("boots-on-the-ground") to ensure compliance with Clean Harbors Health and Safety Policies, Standards, Procedures, Guidelines and Safe Work Practices.
- Audit Health and Safety team performance and compliance to Health and Safety Program core elements.
- Facilitate/guide and review Incident Investigations.
- Develop, conduct and/or audit Safety Meetings designed to promote a better understanding of Company/ Client Health and Safety Policies, Standards, Procedures and Guidelines.
- In collaboration with District Operations Leaders, develop, revise and conduct task-specific risk assessments.
- Prepare safety reports and presenting the information to management.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Certificate in Industrial Hygiene, Safety or related programs, is an asset.
- Minimum 10 years of related health and safety experience. Experience working within Industrial Services environments is an asset. 5 years leadership experience.
- Excellent communication, writing, presentation and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel a minimum 30% of time.
