Job Summary:
Reporting to the Workday ERP Program Director, the Associate Director, Strategic Transformation Office leads the Workday ERP Program team at Langara College. This role collaborates with internal partners such as the other delivery areas of the Workday ERP Program and the Strategic Transformation Office, Student Services, the Registrar’s office, Institutional Planning and Analysis, Finance, People and Culture, and Information Technology Services and other operational and academic areas to identify and prioritize comprehensive change management, strategic program communications plans and payloads, and training strategies and actions necessary for the successful implementation of the overall Workday ERP Program and in particular, the Workday Student Information System and related eco-system solutions.
The Associate Director works in concert with the Senior Project Manager of 3rd Party Solutions, the Project Manager of the Workday Student Information System, and the Workday Program Director to define and implement the optimal change management and training plans and services. The role oversees team of Change Management Specialists, the Workday Communications Advisor, and the Training Specialists, ensuring that the teams’ efforts align with identified priorities and key deliverables of the Workday ERP program. The role provides strategic and operational leadership in developing and executing program of change management and training initiatives, providing strategic and operational leadership in the management of all aspects of this portfolio’s mandate and goals. This position is responsible for the planning, managing, and directing of projects and initiatives to effectively and efficiently support the college community and stakeholders embrace and effectively leverage the new ERP, and the effective transition of training for postproduction sustainment needs. The key result areas are program strategy/planning, reporting on program status, including risks and mitigation strategies, effective communication and change management.
**Job Description**:
Strategic Change Leadership:
- Provides leadership and direction for transformation programs and associated projects under the auspices of the Strategic Transformation Office (STO) in collaboration with various stakeholders to understand unique business and academic requirements and to deliver coordinated and comprehensive organizational change.
- Focuses on achieving organizational goals and objectives. Supports development of clear cases for changes, design of comprehensive change frameworks, desired outcomes, accurate scope, clear roles and decision-making structures
- Gives advice and counsels Executive Sponsors and other leaders to ensure strategic objectives can be met. Works with Executive Sponsors to maximize program benefits to the College.
- Advises on implications across the business and builds effective change management and communications plans.
- Oversees wider team including Communications Advisors and Training Specialists
Program and Project Delivery:
- Capability to plan, organize, deliver and monitor strategic organizational change.
- Responsible for program management including project intake, resource utilization, capacity forecasting, project status and milestones, performance measures, benchmarking, and others.
- Responsible for specialized project management and change management resources to support Executive Sponsors in the delivery of strategic change.
- Proactively monitors project deliverables and milestones and utilizes program management reporting and tracking tools. Ensures timelines are adhered to and issues are escalated in a timely fashion.
- Resolves complex issues and concerns and troubleshoots as necessary.
- Ensures effective liaison between project teams and other College Departments.
- Ensures the confidentiality, security, and stewardship of data, including compliance with freedom of information and protection of privacy legislation.
- Responsible for ensuring that all departmental, College, and governmental policies, procedures and methods are adhered to.
