Neighbourhood Development Coordinator

**Job Duties**:
In charge of developing departmental Equity, Diversity and Inclusion strategy.
Administrative contact for Sturgeon County Youth Leadership and all related activities.
Facilitation of programs that support residents and their mental health (e.g., ASIST, support groups, etc.)
Plan, implement, evaluate, and report on community events and programs in Sturgeon County. Responsibilities include the booking of facilities, procurement of supplies and materials and management of program budgets.
Survey development and implementation to gather the necessary information for outcome reporting.
Support development and implementation of summer programs.
Supervise seasonal summer staff.
Complete final program reports including recommendations for future programs and planning.
Promote community programming across Sturgeon County.
Liaise with program staff, participants, and community volunteers to ensure high quality program experiences.
Provide backup coverage to FCSS Assistant as needed.
Assist the department with Records and Information Management Program through the maintenance, control, and disposition of departmental records.
Adhere to applicable responsibilities and accountabilities as outlined in the Sturgeon County Health and Safety Management System.
In charge of drafting Department specific Council proclamations and creation of programs surrounding awareness days.
Complete other tasks as required.
**Job Qualifications & Skills**:
Post-secondary education in human services, community development or other related field and previous experience working in a program setting.
Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) or related training as well as a First Aid certificate will be required.
Acceptable drivers abstract, and defensive driving is required prior to start. A valid class 4 would be an asset. Access to a vehicle is required.
Criminal Record and Child Welfare Record Check is required, and we will require both checks to be renewed every three years for returning employees.
Strong organizational skills, written and verbal communication skills, extremely detail oriented.
Interpersonal skills to work with staff members and external customers to support department programs and services.
Ability to take initiative, be resourceful, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Strong computer skills and demonstrate a high level of competency using all Microsoft programs and other related software.
Must be available to work the occasional evening or weekends.
Knowledge of and experience implementing EDI principles would be considered an asset.
Knowledge of FCSS program and related legislation would be an asset.
