Reporting to the Foreman, the Highway Maintenance Worker Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of various types of heavy equipment used in highway maintenance. This position plays a key role in maintaining highways, ensuring the functionality and safety of roadways.

**How You’ll Add Value**
- Actively contribute to the safety culture, promoting a safe and productive work environment
- Maintain, service, and inspect company equipment, vehicles, and facilities, ensuring proper care and security
- Follow labour laws, company policies, safety regulations, and environmental/OH&S compliance
- Ensure proper signage, traffic control measures, and emergency response for weather events, accidents, and wildlife hazards
- Operate and learn various heavy equipment for snow/ice control, roadside, and highway maintenance
- Maintain well-stocked maintenance facilities and complete necessary documentation, including logs, reports, and safety records
- Safely transport hazardous materials and manage traffic in high-volume work zones and emergency situations

**What You Bring**
- Valid Class 3 Driver’s License with air brake endorsement with a Driver’s Abstract showing no more than 6 demerits and no major infractions
- Reside within 30 minutes driving distance of the assigned shop
- Skilled in operating and performing minor maintenance on light, medium, and heavy equipment is considered an asset
- Experience in snowplow operations is considered an asset
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions
- Flexible schedule for on-call shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
