**Position Summary**
The Ramp Supervisor has the key role of ensuring that Ramp Operations perform their duties in accordance with all policies and procedures assigned to their position. As a working supervisor, the Ramp Supervisor’s primary goal is to maintain safety, efficiency, excellent customer service and on-time performance.
Reporting to the Manager, Ramp Operations, the Ramp Supervisor will oversee daily front-line operations of the Ramp department and will assist Ramp Operations, Cargo Operations, Flight Operations and other departmental supervisors to meet departmental and corporate safety and performance objectives.

**Responsibilities**
- Oversee the safe and efficient daily frontline operations of the Ramp department
- Responsible for ground handling of aircraft, loading and unloading of cargo and baggage and the organization of the baggage room and apron
- Provide positive teamwork and ongoing support to the Ramp Department as part of the Cargo Operations Department working closely and overseeing the following positions and their assigned responsibilities: Baggage Agents, Ramp Agents and the Aircraft Load Coordinator
- Performance oriented with the ability to identify potential safety and operational hazards that may impact department’s ability to meet performance objectives
- Detail oriented with the ability to supervise and mentor the accurate loading and unloading of aircraft in accordance with regulatory requirements and aircraft manufacturer specifications in an efficient manner
- Using reasonable judgement, is able to balance conflicting operational requirements to maximize cargo payload while maintaining on-time performance all without jeopardizing safety or regulatory compliance
- Assumes leadership of all daily activities performed on the ramp and works collaboratively with the team to provide coaching and mentorship with the objective to maximize cargo payload and on-time performance
- Demonstrate excellent customer service that is positive, friendly and supportive while leading the team towards achieving high levels of customer satisfaction and operational excellence
- Ensure continuous compliance with safety policies and regulations, while properly utilizing equipment and materials
- Demonstrate a cooperative attitude while working on all job tasks and provide assistance and support to others (e.g. Loadmaster, Cargo Agent, Warehouse positions) when needed and available
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the department and organization
- Maintain constant communication with your Manager and coworkers ensuring that teams are informed of updates and procedural changes
- Maintaining accurate Safety Management Systems (SMS) reporting
- Maintains Certification of Dangerous Goods regulations and requirements, particularly as it relates to aircraft loading requirements
- Actively participate and offer suggestions and/or recommendations towards department improvements, e.g. attending operational meetings, safety meetings
- Work collaboratively with Cargo Supervisors to meet departmental goals
- Ensure that all new and existing employees are trained and supplied with necessary resources to obtain a RAIC/RAP and applicable AVOP, safety equipment, and electronic communication devices
- Ensure that ground support equipment is available and functioning to support operations
- Implement the efficient and effective use of de-icing programs and employee required responsibilities
- Monitor the proper loading and tracking of seat packs and other equipment
- Exhibit initiative, responsibility and flexibility, with demonstrated interpersonal skills allowing one to adapt to a fast-paced working environment
- Provide assistance and support for any/all staff performance and disciplinary issues that may arise in the Ramp Department
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Manager, Ramp Operations
**Minimum Education and Experience**
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- Must possess valid class five (5) driver’s license
- Obtain and maintain RAIC/RAP and AVOP
- Previous supervisory experience is considered an asset
- Knowledge of Amelia computer system is considered an asset
- Cultural Diversity training considered an asset
- Airline experience considered an asset
- Obtain and maintain forklift certification
