Here in Saskatoon, Nuseed specializes in the growth and production of Brassica carinata, and Brassica napus. Brassica Carinata is a non-food crop that offers a solution to the growing problem of providing a clean source of feedstock to the biofuels industry. It is sustainably produced without diverting food production and it allows farmers to contribute to their country's energy security. For our Brassica Napus program we're combining our leading agronomic traits with strategic global R&D collaborations to bring North American canola growers what we've been bringing Australian growers for over a decade - high yielding, profitable canola seed backed by Nuseed.

Our Saskatoon office is looking for individuals to join our Carinata and Canola research and development teams.

**Key Tasks**:

- Field ground preparations and flagging of sites
- Seeding of small plot field trials and nurseries
- Establishing and maintaining tented seed production nurseries
- Set up and operation of irrigation equipment
- Assembly of small and large tent frames
- Operating small plot field equipment such as tractors, seeders, sprayers, threshers and tillage tools
- Harvest of small and large tented seed production
- Weeding of plots by hand, hoe or tiller
- Mowing or whipper snipping
- Driving a truck and trailer, including hauling of equipment to multiple sites
- Taking accurate and precise agronomic data notes
- Equipment calibration and maintenance
- Assisting technicians, agronomists and plant breeders with other duties as required

**Qualifications**:

- Agricultural education and/or related farm experience an asset
- Possession of a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver’s Licence
- Current driver’s abstract from SGI demonstrating a safe driving record
- Punctual, reliable and able to work outdoors
- No known sting (bees, wasps etc.) allergies
- Physical ability to perform assigned duties
- A high level of attention to detail resulting in consistent outcomes
- Proven problem-solving abilities in team and individual settings

**Job Type**: Seasonal
Contract length: 4-6 months

Pay: $18.00-$28.00 per hour

Additional pay:

- Overtime pay

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime
- Weekends as needed

Work Location: In person
