At **Kidco Construction**, we are proud to say we’re building Calgary from the ground down. As one of Alberta’s leading earthworks contractors, we operate a large fleet of over 600 pieces of earthmoving equipment. We are currently seeking an experienced **Shop Supervisor** to lead our maintenance operations and support the continued growth and efficiency of our fleet.

**Position Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- ** Lead and supervise** daily shop operations and provide direction to all shop employees.
- ** Lead our Safety initiatives,**ensure safety is a priority in the shop
- ** Assign work**, set priorities, and ensure timely and efficient repairs and service of all equipment.
- ** Procure and manage** parts and supplies within set budgets.
- ** Act as a technical resource** to shop personnel, supporting troubleshooting and repair methods.
- ** Monitor productivity and workmanship**, ensuring high-quality standards are met.
- ** Oversee facility maintenance** and repairs to ensure efficient operation of the shop.
- ** Approve employee timesheets** and close work orders with proper documentation.
- ** Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and training** of shop personnel.
- ** Conduct safety orientations and ongoing training**, fostering a strong safety culture.
- ** Coordinate with external contractors** for specialized repairs and overhauls.
- ** Identify and address training needs** to enhance team competency.
- ** Provide regular performance feedback**, including 3-month and annual reviews.
- ** Inspect all equipment prior to release**, signing off on completed work.
- **
Manage the tool crib** and arrange for tool repairs as needed.
- ** Contribute to a clean, organized, and team-oriented shop environment.**

**Qualifications**:

- ** Journeyman Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic - Required**
- Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a heavy equipment maintenance environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and team development
- Willingness to work extra hours as needed
