**Speech and Language Pathologist - Early Intervention Services**
Multiple Positions
FCB is hiring Speech and Language Pathologists to join our Early Intervention (EI) team supporting children at various partner locations in Calgary and surrounding Areas. Working with an Early Learning Coordinator (ELC) the SLP is responsible for managing a caseload with a variety of speech and language needs.
**Primary Role**
The SLP plays a key role on the EI team. Working in collaboration with the EI team, the SLP will participate in screening and assessing preschool and kindergarten aged children. The SLP is responsible for planning and developing programming that fits the unique needs of each child on their caseload. Providing regular, educationally based intervention sessions, communicating with families, supporting educational assistants, and collaborating with the EI team.
**Duties include**:
- Participate in screenings and complete assessments.
- Create Individual Program Plan (IPP) goals and support the implementation of strategies to achieve these goals.
- Support members of the child’s team to build their capacity to program for the children’s needs on your caseload.
- Support families with strategies and recommendations to support their child’s language development
- Regularly complete intervention session notes, monitor goals and complete reports as required.
- Adhere to the required standards of ACSLPA
- Participate in IPP meetings and work collaboratively with other members of the EI team.
- Support Educational Assistants and Early Learning Coordinators with training and education around language and communication.
- Participate in ongoing professional learning meetings.
**Skills and Abilities**:
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Flexible approach that focuses on the unique needs of the child and programming
- Strong understanding of Alberta Education requirements
- Knowledge and skills to work with several forms of speech and language delays
- Current knowledge of effective strategies for supporting neurodiverse learners within an early childhood classroom.
**Requirements**:
- Master’s degree in Speech - Language Pathology
- Member in good standing and registered to practice with the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA)
- Current professional liability insurance
- Minimum of three years of experience, working with preschool aged children
- Experience working with young, neurodiverse children and children with challenging behaviours.
- Reliable vehicle and proof of insurance (2 million).
- A current criminal record check and vulnerable sector check.
