We are currently searching for an independent self-starter to join our growing business in Ayr Ontario. The Operations/Dispatch Support person must be an effective communicator that is able to liaise with clients, carriers and other operational departments. The Operations/Dispatch Support must be able to work as part of a team in a fast paced and pressured environment, communicating effectively with both colleagues and clients and following verbal and written instructions.

Operations/Dispatch Support:
Dispatch:

- Answer satellite and telephone messages promptly.
- Building trips for dispatchers.
- Ensure accurate and timely load requirements are conveyed to operators.
- Ensures the accurate and timely processing of information to and from truck.
- Keeps all persons involved up to date on what events are occurring.
- Throughout shift, continually review list of loads and their respective points of origin, destination, pickup and delivery time.
- Assists drivers with route planning and loading/unloading concerns.
- Works in cooperation and provides support to the drivers and owner operators.
- Promote safety, service excellence and teamwork amongst co-workers and drivers with enthusiasm, commitment, good attitude, reliability, ethical and integrity.
- Monitoring load refusals.
- Keeps sales and operations up to date on movement of trucks and any special needs or concerns of these trucks.
- Daily tracking of all units, positions and locations.

Customer Service:

- Work closely with Customer Service tracking and tracing freight.
- Work closely with Customer Service to schedule/reschedule delivery appointments as required.
- Accurately enter orders into the system when customer service associates are not available.
- Works to ensure that customer requirements are met.

Customs:

- Ensure border crossings and customer requirements are entered correctly and ACE transmission are completed accordingly.
- Works with Customs Department and drivers to provide ACI and ACE paperwork and entry numbers.
- Assist where and when needed in customs positions.

**Qualifications**:

- Strong computer skills including Word, Excel
- Strong customer service focus
- Previous customer service experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent computer keyboarding skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Good geographical knowledge
- High level of common sense
- Ability to work under pressure and within time constraints
- Good organizational skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to work as part of a team

**Requirements**:

- must have own transportation
- must live within an hour of Ayr, ON

**Salary**: $19.00-$26.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 12 hour shift
- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Ayr, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:
