**Job Overview**

**Responsibilities**
- Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions tailored to individual student needs.
- Assess students’ strengths and weaknesses to develop customized learning plans.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and educators regarding progress and areas for improvement.
- Utilize various teaching methods and resources to engage students and enhance their learning experience.
- Help students with homework assignments, test preparation, and study skills.
- Maintain a supportive and encouraging atmosphere that promotes student motivation and self-esteem.
- Prepare lesson plans for upcoming tutoring sessions and come up with strategies to help students grasp the material.
- Keep up to date with the Ontario curriculum.
- Track student progress and adjust tutoring strategies as necessary to ensure effective learning outcomes.
- Travel to student's homes for tutoring sessions

**Qualifications**
- Previous experience in tutoring or teaching, particularly in a classroom setting, is required - Minimum 2 years.
- OCT certification required.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain concepts clearly and effectively.
- Experience working with children in an educational environment is highly desirable.
- A passion for education and a commitment to helping students achieve their academic goals.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods based on individual student needs and learning styles.
- Patience, empathy, and enthusiasm for working with diverse learners.
- Having a car is an asset due to travel requirement.
- High preference for Math and sciences grade 10 to 12.
- Availability preference; 4pm to 8pm during weekdays and weekends all day.

Areas preferred: Brampton, Etobicoke, Mississauga, Richmond Hill, Markham, North York, Vaughan, Scarborough and Toronto (Midtown and downtown).

**Job Type**: Freelance

Expected hours: No more than 20 per week
