Social Development Manager

**Responsibilities**
- Administer all aspects of the Social Development Program, including Income Assistance and Adult Home Care.
- Prepare annual budgets and projections, track and report on variances, surpluses, and deficits.
- Monitor and manage budgeted social development funds, ensuring proper usage and accountability
- Maintain familiarity with updates to ISC policy and ensure team compliance through regular training and oversight.
- Monitor client files and case records for accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and provincial social policies and ensure local alignment.
- Support clients with employment readiness, training, and education referrals.
- Provide guidance and advocacy for clients navigating policy obligations and appeal processes.
- Refer clients to external services when specialized support is required (e.g., mental health, housing).
- Collaborate on and write funding proposals for community-based programs.
- Develop and promote initiatives that enhance community wellness, independence, and social capacity.
- Assist in the coordination of employment training and work opportunity programs for community members
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal departments and external partners, including: Indigenous Services Canada (ISC), First Nations Health Authority, Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction, Local health and social service organizations etc.
- Submit accurate reports and documentation in accordance with funding and regulatory requirements.
- Other duties as required
**Qualifications**
- Degree or diploma in Social Work, Public or Business Administration, Human Services, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience administering social or community development programs, preferably in a First Nations setting.
- Experience writing funding proposals and managing budgets is an asset.
- Strong understanding of ISC Social Development policies and procedures.
- Experience with policy development, budgeting, reporting, and staff supervision.
- Strong understanding of Indigenous values, community-based wellness approaches, and social development best practices.
- Excellent administrative, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to analyze data, prepare reports, and manage multiple programs and projects simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and data management systems.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check.

Pay: $75,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
