**Job Summary**:
The Quality Assurance Inspector will focus on continuous improvement by performing inspections and quality control tests, and advising the supervisor/manager team of any non
- conforming parts with the goal of maintaining everyday production. This position reports to the Quality Control Supervisor and will train on day shift for 6 weeks prior to transitioning to a 12-hour continental night shift schedule (7:30pm - 7:30am)
**Principle Accountabilities**:
- Perform visual checks, manual/automatic measurements and testing to verify that products conform to quality standards
- Recognize typical defects.
- Check molded/assembled parts conforming to quality related requirement.
- Perform and qualify first shot approval (FSA) and record events in non-conformance reports to ensure products are of the highest quality.
- Know the location of quality related equipment and consumables, maintain equipment in work condition or report for maintenance/repair/replacement when required.
- Identify parts related information including part numbers, Bill of Material, work orders, packaging, labels, logos and markings, material type, material lot, date of production, and also status of parts such as production parts, hold parts, in-test parts etc..
- Understand quality related requirements including ISO manual, QC manual, listing requirement, drawings.
- Print labels for production.
- Perform plant audits to identify and inspect parts on the production floor.
- Perform a variety of other tasks as assigned.
**Requirements**:
- Completion of high school diploma or practical equivalent
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
- Computer literacy including proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite of products
- Quality related job experience preferred
- Quality related courses/certifications from ASQ or another recognized organization is an asset.
- Must possess excellent ability to pay attention to detail
- Effective written and verbal communication skill

**Working Conditions**:
Incumbent spends almost 100% of time in the plant environment requiring varying degrees of moderate physical labour. The majority of the work will involve lifting, pulling, pushing light objects, standing and walking. Personal safety is affected by exposure to heat, dust, and noise levels. Considerable amount of sensory attention is required. Limited control of work pace and unexpected workflow, bring some stresses to this position. Exposure to hazardous materials and/or chemicals may be required.
