Quality Assurance Manager

**Job Summary**
**12 month fixed-term contract**
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Quality Assurance Manager will create the framework for a quality assurance program at Latitude, by collecting information from different teams, defining business standards, implementing quality control policies and documenting, analyzing and reporting quality issues. This role will also provide guidance and support for process implementation within the business to improve overall quality. The QA Manager will be an advocate for change and process improvement.
**Duties**
- Meet with department managers to gather information and understand current processes, procedures and practices.
- Lead root cause analysis and investigation for any quality issues, returns and technical services and provide recommendations for corrective action.
- Coordinate and lead meetings to review and address quality issues and gaps with such departments as production, pre-production, service, installation, inventory and operations.
- Establish best practices and innovative approaches to eliminate or reduce risks of human error and other vulnerabilities in Latitude processes.
- Develop process for product quality inspection and reporting.
- Attend meetings with senior management to report on and discuss quality control issues.
- Train employees to meet quality standards in all areas of the production process.
- Monitor finished surfaces to confirm their compliance with quality standards and address those which fail to comply.
- Participate in the development and modification of Standard Operating Procedures.
- Identify opportunities for process automation.
- Conduct audits on critical control points and quality control processes.
- Participate in the recruitment of a quality control team within production.
- Document inspection findings, and complete detailed reports, metrics and performance records.
- Educate the production team on quality control processes, critical control points, and standards of product quality.
- Keep abreast with manufacturing best practices.
- Maintain a healthy and safe working environment by complying with legal regulations.
**Experience & Qualifications**
- Education in a related field such as engineering, computer science, business management.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a quality assurance role.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in project management.
- Strong relationship building skills.
- Consultancy experience is an asset.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
- Enjoys working in a team.
- Proven ability to meet objectives when faced with resistance to change.
- Confident communicator.
- Able to work independently and meet tight deadlines with mínimal supervision.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Proficient in MS Excel (advanced level).
