**Head Chef Job Summary**

The Head Chef is responsible for overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu design, food preparation, staff management, and inventory control. This role requires a highly skilled and experienced culinary professional who can ensure the highest quality of food and service while maintaining cost control measures. The Head Chef must possess strong leadership qualities and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Collaboration with Corporate Chef and adherence to health and safety regulations are also critical components of this position.

**Head Chef Duties**
- Oversee kitchen operations and ensure food quality standards are met
- Develop and design new menu items based on seasonal ingredients and customer preferences in collaboration with the Corporate Chef.
- Manage and train kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to safety and hygiene standards
- Control inventory and order supplies to maintain stock levels
- Collaborate with management to plan and execute special events and promotions
- Maintain budget and cost control measures to ensure profitability
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Conduct regular kitchen inspections to maintain cleanliness and organization
- Maintain equipment in working order
- Coordinate with shop manager to fulfil online, store and to go orders.
- Reports to Corporate Chef.

**Head Chef Requirements**
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar role
- Culinary degree or equivalent training
- In-depth knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in various cooking techniques and cuisines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Working knowledge of inventory software, budgeting, MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Prolonged periods standing and preparing and cooking food.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
- Must be able to work in a kitchen environment that may involve exposure to extreme heat or cold.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour

Flexible language requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

Work Location: In person
