**ROLE DESCRIPTION**:
Rocket Doctor’s Indigenous Health Lead will be responsible to recruit, onboard and support physicians within Rocket Doctor across all provinces, with a special emphasis on the unique health needs of indigenous peoples. Concurrently they will also be helping to grow and optimize Rocket Doctor in all facets within the medical side of the company.
- Key responsibilities include:
- Review and advise on processes and practices within the company through the lens of health equity, justice, inclusion, and indigenous priorities;
- Engage with First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities and the health systems that serve them, to develop potential partnerships;
- Recruit and onboard physicians within Canada who have special interest or expertise in providing care for indigenous communities and peoples;
- Supporting the Provider Success team in recruitment and retention of physicians nationally;
- Ensuring Rocket Doctor’s product aligns with the goals and needs of practicing physicians and indigenous patients;
- Maintaining regular communication with practitioners on the platform, including (but not limited to) participation on Slack channels, attending “All Docs on Deck” quarterly meetings and other community-building events.
- Other Roles (common to all MD Advisors):
- Attending and actively participating in regularly scheduled MD Advisory meetings;
- Assisting to onboard new physicians and familiarizing them with the Rocket Doctor platform;
- Helping develop and continually improve our physician handbook;
- Engaging with the physician advisory team and the product development team for improvement initiatives;
- Troubleshooting and strategic guidance around emerging physician roadblocks and challenges;
- Acting as a resource to physicians on the RD platform regarding billing and virtual care practices and protocols for both insured and non-insured patients;
- Assist in the development of communications in support of physicians and RD staff;
- Supporting the Patient Care Coordinators (PCC) team to ensure adequate clinical coverage for the platform;
- Assisting in the coordination of regular meetings and events for Rocket Doctor physicians.
**EXPECTATIONS**:
- Be organized, positive and uplifting. As a representative of Rocket Doctor the Physician Lead is an exemplar of how we work on our platform, perform, and interact with patients and Rocket Doctor staff;
- Maintain a high standard of professionalism as established by the College of Physicians and Surgeons;
- Knowledge of our EMR, Rocket Doctor’s extensions as well as privacy requirements in the Canada/USA (HIPAA, PHIPA, PIPEDA) would be a benefit;
- Maintain a professional and respectful relationship with all RD staff and patient correspondence;
- Maintain a record of all decisions made;
- Ability to work with confidential company information.
**COMPENSATION**:
- The position is estimated to be an average of 4 hours per week and will be compensated according to current Rocket Doctor policy.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Licensed to practise medicine in Ontario;
- Familiarity with the medical landscape in Ontario;
- The position requires native fluency in English; fluency in French is an advantage;
- Ability to work in a fast paced and rapidly changing environments;
- Experience in Business and/or Medical Administration is an advantage.
**WORK / TRAVEL**:
- Position is remote in Canada. Must be able to adequately perform the above duties with reasonable accommodation.
- Occasional travel may be required.
