Pattern Maker 1

**Your opportunity at Arc’teryx**:

- As a Pattern Maker 1, you partner with our Design teams from maker phase, which focuses on the development of concepts, all the way through to pre-production when our products are approved to counter sample. You provide support on the creation of patterns to align with design intent, meeting Arc’teryx quality, fit and construction standards.

- We are an innovative team of creatives, comprised of Product Developers, Designers, Pattern Makers, Cutters, and Sewers, who collaborate cross-functionally to craft and develop best-in-class ideas and bring technical products to life.

**If you were in the Pattern Maker 1 role now, here are some of the core activities you would be responsible for**:

- Interpreting design intent by creating concepts, prototypes, and counter sample patterns, ensuring that methods and documentation are consistent with known factory methods and processes
- Partnering with Design to establish standard fit by product type and category, ensuring consistent product size and fit
- Partnering and collaborating with Designers and Product Developers to establish and document product construction standards and illustrated technical specifications for all product
- Contributing to the creation and use of the block pattern library
- Maintaining computer pattern libraries by ensuring changes are clearly communicated to Product Developers, Graders and Marker Makers
- Ensuring development and product creation deadlines are met through providing regular reporting on prototype and sample progress
- Providing estimates of raw material yields to Product Developers during prototype development
- Building strong partnerships, effectively communicating with Designers, Sample Sewers, Product Developers, and factory partners
- Developing and maintaining accurate sample garment measurement specifications and pattern list templates in our Product Line Management System (Centric)
- Supporting the Product Creation process through partnering with Product Operations teams to help identify areas that need improvement or clarity
- Supporting and contributing to CLO3D modeling as required
- Supporting Pattern Maker 2 and Senior Pattern Makers as required

**Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future**:

- Supporting on special projects, such as Speed to Market
- Providing feedback and input towards improving tech pack and development processes
- Supporting the factories by training and enabling a better understanding of Arc’teryx standards and methods

**Are you our next Pattern Maker 1?**:

- You have a relevant post-secondary education and 1+ year of pattern making experience
- You have the ability to work from pattern blocks and/or from sketches
- You have practical knowledge of garment construction
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office
- You have effective English skills in both verbal and written communications
- You have an excellent attention to detail, including accurate data entry skills
- You have strong interpersonal skills
- You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues, seeking the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions with an unwavering commitment to do what is right
- You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
- You effectively balance autonomy and collaboration
- You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement
- Your passion for your work is paralleled by your passion for getting outside and living it
