**Position Summary**:
Under the direction of the Manager, Retail and Operations Support, the Retail Operations Assistant supports the daily store operations of the GBC Campus Store at a designated campus. The Retail Operations Assistant is responsible for store operations, web order fulfillment, customer service, receiving and inventory control, and merchandising of products. The Assistant also supports the Manager with staff scheduling and communication, training on store systems and procedures, and reporting. During peak periods, the Assistant supports the Manager with extended campus store programs such as Orientation, Convocation, and pop-up shops supporting signature campus events.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Maintains the sales floor and stock rooms in a neat and orderly manner; maintains store pricing of merchandise, including creating/printing price labels, barcodes and other merchandising materials, restocking and merchandising displays.
- Ensures local store compliance with current Campus Store promotional campaigns.
- Supports social media and in-store marketing campaigns and development and implementation.
- Provides advice, training and guidance to part time seasonal staff.
- Assists with receiving and fulfilling e-commerce orders.
- Responsible for receiving products and maintaining store inventory; responsible for checking incoming shipments for accuracy/damage and notifying the receiver and buyers as required; communicates with buyers regarding stock levels and product requests from customers; coordinates the shipping and receiving of products; ensures product and merchandise returns are coordinated with other locations and properly executed.
- Supports the Manager with the store schedules and ensures all part-time staff are informed; monitors the scheduled hours and attendance; provides staff, inventory and sales reports to the Manager.
- Works with the Financial Coordinator to ensure all journals, reconciliations, and sales reports are accurate and submitted.
- Other duties as assigned.
**Educational and Experience Requirements**:
- Two-year diploma or equivalent from a recognized post-secondary institution in Business or other equivalent related to retail.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in a retail or business environment.
**Skills and Attributes:
- Solid time management, coordination, sales analysis and planning skills.
- Able to lift between 20 kg or 44 lbs (i.e., handling deliveries, building merchandising displays, etc.).
- Excellent communication, collaboration, interpersonal, and teamwork skills at a professional level.
- Demonstrated commitment to uphold the College’s priorities on diversity and equity.
