**What would a typical day be like?**

Dynamic. As an **Applications Specialist**, you will contribute to the development of 3+ project opportunities daily. You will visit customer manufacturing sites across North America to gain an understanding of customers’ challenges and identify areas of opportunity (typical travel of 2 to 3 days per month on average). You will brainstorm and conceptualize custom automation concepts to solve complex manufacturing challenges. You will take those concepts from whiteboard sketches to concrete plans for your customer. Your mission is to deliver comprehensive project proposals including scope, costing, schedule, and performance criteria.

**What qualifies you for this opportunity?**
- Firsthand experience in the field of robotics, automation, mechanical design, custom machinery, and/or control systems
- Talent to conceptualize automation solutions to complex manufacturing challenges working collaboratively within a team.
- Amazing communication skills to make presentations to internal team, customers, and vendor partners.
- Strong writing skills for preparing proposals and defining project scope.
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Industrial, etc.)
- This position has the flexibility to be based remotely, with periodic travel to our Build Facility in London Ontario, or customer sites as required.
- Reliable transportation and an ability to travel; Applications Engineer at JMP should have the ability to travel within the US and Canada.

**Physical Demands**:

- While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to feel objects, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, talk and hear.
- Specific vision abilities required for the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
