**Job description**
Reporting to Quality Assurance Manager, Quality Assurance Technician is to execute and maintain Food Safety and Quality programs by ensuring procedures are being followed by all employees through education and support.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure GMP, established procedures (SOP’s), standards and requirements are followed by all employees and visitors at all times.
- Perform pre-operational and in-operational equipment cleanliness inspections and swabbing
- Perform required Food Safety and Quality inspections, verifications, calibration and internal audits
- Identify, report and investigate any deviation to procedure, system or standard and assist with implementing corrective actions and follow ups
- Perform internal lab testing and assist in internal and external test result administrating and documentation
- Provide and support employee training on Food Safety and Quality and GMP programs
- Inspect incoming raw materials and review document for approval and releasing. Administrate record and verify all external or suppliers’ documents based on SQF requirements.
- Ensure product is in compliance with SQF, CFIA, FDA and all established regulations
- Assist in preparation and participate in sensory evaluation program
- Document reports, complaints, departmental requests and assist with all administrative functions associated with this role.
- Assist in the continual implementation and improvement of food safety programs such as SQF, HACCP and HACCP Prerequisite Programs
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including but not limited to: GMP, SQF, HACCP, Health & Safety, Attendance, etc.
Requirements, Skills & Qualifications
- Post Secondary Diploma or Certificate in Food Science or Food Technology, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, Quality Assurance and related fields
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience working in Food Manufacturing
- Knowledge of HACCP and SQF is an asset
- Team player and passionate about Food Safety
- Strong in written and verbal communication
Pay: From $23.00 per hour
