**Casual/On-Call**
The District of Squamish has an exciting opportunity for a Casual HR Assistant This is a fantastic chance to grow your HR
experience in a unionized environment.
**_What You’ll Do:_**
- Assist with day-to-day HR operations.
- Help with recruitment processes, including posting job ads and scheduling interviews.
- Maintain employee records and provide general administrative support to the HR team.
**_What we’re looking for: _**
- Detail-oriented with superior organizational and communication skills.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- A degree in HR or a related field and at least two years experience working in an administrative capacity
supporting HR.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to build meaningful connections across the organization. It's ideal for someone
looking for a work schedule that fits around other commitments. Shifts will be between Monday to Friday and will vary
depending on operational needs and your availability.

**GENERAL SUMMARY**
Under the supervision of a Senior Human Resources Advisor, the Human Resources (HR) Assistant supports the
organization by providing administrative and human resources support in the areas of staffing and recruitment,
onboarding and exiting, training, labour relations, health and safety and other HR initiatives.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Customer Service**
- Contributes to the success of our team and creation of our thriving community, by fostering the District of Squamish
corporate values: Respect, Integrity, Connection and Progress.
- Follows the District of Squamish’s Customer Service Guidelines to ensure the Delivery of Outstanding Service.
- Provides excellent customer service to managers, employees and the external parties by providing information and
assistance on matters regarding HR related services, policies, and procedures.
**Recruiting**
Provides support in all areas related to recruiting including:
- Opening and closing electronic recruitment competition sites using MS SharePoint.
- Preparing job postings for internal and external sites.
- Filing, tracking, and printing resumes as needed for competition files.
participating in interviews as needed.
- Scanning required documentation such as interview notes, reference checks and signed offer letters into the
competition files.
- Liaising with hiring managers to provide updates on their competition.
- Assisting hiring managers with the completion of appropriate payroll forms for new hires.
**General Administrative Support**
Provides a wide variety of clerical and administrative support to the HR department including:
- Updating the Human Resources records management systems by establishing new files, filing a variety of records
including original and electronic documents and ensuring that records are complete, cross indexed and secured in
accordance with legal, operational, historical and other established requirements.
- Providing assistance with the administration of benefits to all District employees.
- Conducting shift tracking and running reports on a routine basis.
- Taking and preparing formal minutes for meetings including Health & Safety, Labour Management, and other
