**Junior Accounts Payable Clerk**

We are currently looking for another permanent, full-time, Junior Accounts Payable Clerk to join our accounting team.

The Junior Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for a variety of financial and non-financial tasks that help ensure the company’s successful business relationships with clients and vendors. This position would be well suited for an individual who has recently started a career in accounting and is looking for the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the processing of outgoing payments and general office administration.

**Hours**: Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm (40-hour work week).

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
**Accounting**:

- Process accounts payable and cheque run, ensuring timeliness and accuracy of information
- Code and file financial records according to established procedures
- Reconcile monthly supplier statements to internal records, ensure discrepancies are addressed in a timely manner
- Assist with accounts receivable processes and bank deposits, as required
- Prepare account reconciliations and journal postings, as required
- Assist with financial reports, as required
- Month end duties, as required

**Office administration**:

- Greet visitors in a professional and courteous manner
- Sort incoming mail, faxes, and courier deliveries for distribution
- Prepare and send outgoing faxes, mail, and courier parcels
- Management of office stationery and supplies
- Provide administrative support to staff

**Qualifications**
- 1+ year experience in an office environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- High attention to detail and accurate data entry and filing skills
- Clear communicator with a pleasant phone manner
- Customer service oriented
- Previous accounting experience or enrollment in an accounting program is considered an asset
- Previous experience using accounting software is considered an asset

**Salary**: $19.00-$23.00 per hour
