**About the Position**:
You will report to the Proposals Manager and have involvement in the cost estimates of large-scale steel fabrication projects, as well as smaller projects. You will also assist in the tender process, liaise with customers and provide administrative support for the team. The successful applicant should be familiar with metal fab detailing, fabrication and requirements and will be required to collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers.

**Hours of Work**:
7:00 AM to 4:30 PM (Monday - Thursday)
8:00 AM to 12:00 PM (Friday)
Total of 40 Hours Per Week

**What will you be doing**:
Review specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.

Review and prepare material costs, labour estimates and testing & inspection requirements & costs for varying steel fabrication projects.

Check estimates for accuracy and review bid submittal documents and notes.

Liaise with customers and project managers for information requests or resolutions.

Work closely with engineering and purchasing departments.

Review material supplier and subcontractor quotes for accuracy.

Support manufacturing with basic planning and review meetings.

Provide technical support to the Sales department.

Assist in the review, checking and completion of estimates prepared by others.

**REQUESTED SKILLS**

**What you bring to Cambridge Pro Fab Inc.**

Educational requirements: Previous hands-on experience estimating, or a college or university degree, or equivalent combinations of technical training.

Knowledge of typical materials, steel fabrication, and inspection & testing requirements.

**Must be able to proficiently read general assembly and detail fabrication drawings.**

Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

Proficiency and knowledge of MS Excel general usage is a requirement.

Proficiency with AutoCAD is preferred.

You should be detail oriented with strong analytical, math and computer skills.

Able to analyze, compare and interpret detailed, but sometimes poorly defined information, and be able to make sound judgments based on this information.

Good memory and the ability to relate current requirements to previous experience and pricing knowledge.

Ability to work on several projects simultaneously.
