**Position Overview**

Using a family systems approach, the Program Facilitator is responsible for creating and delivering quality educational, social, and recreational therapeutic programs offered at various locations throughout the Niagara Region and online. They are responsible for the development and delivery of quality educational, social, and recreational therapeutic programs for members of their designated age group. The Program Facilitator must be able to provide quality care, role modelling and dynamic, interactive programming in a manner that builds resilience, increases self-esteem, and decreases isolation for each member. All programs and support must be designed and led in a safe, fun and developmentally appropriate manner for young caregivers and their families.

**Program Creation & Delivery Time**
**Responsibilities**
- Lead the creation, planning and delivery of social and recreational therapeutic programs for young caregivers and their families including weekly respite and life skills programs for ages 12-25 including some all ages programs. Must be able to lead programs online and in-person.
- Develop program plans for in-person and online programs, and ensure all supporting documentation is completed to support the facilitation of the weekly programs (grab and go, instructions, etc.)
- Together with peer Program Coordinators, create and deliver special events, family events, joint events as needed.
- Lead the clean up of all program supplies after a program is finished and ensure that the venue has been left in a better condition than it was prior to arrival.
- Be informed on the whereabouts of all members during all programs, outings and activities.
- Ensure best/informed practices are followed and are continuously being sought.
- Actively participate in professional and personal development to ensure knowledge and skills are updated and meeting the needs of our members and organization (for example, booster seat installation and use).
- Demonstrate a dedication to the position, to caregiving families, and to the communities we serve while upholding the expectations, values and mission of the organization.
- Together with peer Program Coordinators, debrief program activities and identify measures for improvement.

**Program Facilitator Time**
**Responsibilities**
- Make reminder calls for all programs under your responsibility.
- Purchase and prepare all program supplies and/or program kits for weekly respite and life skills program or monthly kit drop offs under your responsibility.
- Organize and transport members to programs, events and activities with strict adherence to the transportation policy using a personal vehicle. Required to contact all designated clients to make transportation arrangements.
- Maintain inventory of all respite and life skills program supplies under your responsibility, including healthy snacks, and purchase required items when needed.
- Monitor all expenses and budget and reconcile credit card receipt purchases associated with programs under your responsibility.
- Coordinate guest speakers and outside agencies to run special events at programs under your responsibility. Be the main point of contact establishing clear lines of communications to coordinate their participation in the program.

**Program Reporting Time**
**Responsibilities**
- Conduct continuous program evaluation for programs under your responsibility.
- Complete program reports for programs under your responsibility.
- For programs under your responsibility, record accurate attendance records, statistics, and travel/expense logs as required by funders and as outlined in the Human Resources manual.
- For programs under your responsibility, maintain accurate records, including data entry, case note documentation and all other database requirements.
- Submit monthly board reports to the Director of Programs and Services, providing a summary of the activities connected to programs under your responsibility.

**Program Communication Time**
- Take pictures at programs and ensure they are uploaded to the Google drive regularly.
- Maintain and keep current binders of program plans and newsletters.
- Contribute to social media account content when needed
- Contribute to newsletters including articles, pictures and program details.

**Strategic Development Time**:
**Responsibilities**
- Seek out opportunities and develop the programming for future young caregivers and lead their delivery.
- Recruit participants for future programs for the demographic under your responsibility and other future client profiles.
- Collaborate in the development of the content for virtual programming.
- Be a member of committees when relevant and attend meetings.
