**Job Summary**
**About the Position**:
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and youth? This is a unique opportunity to be part of a collaborative summer experience, supporting both traditional and innovative pilot learning programs for young people living in marginalized neighbourhoods across St. Thomas-Elgin.

As a **Summer Program Facilitator**, you will help design, coordinate, and deliver a variety of summer group programs that support skill-building, engagement, and fun. You’ll gain valuable experience in youth work, program development, and community collaboration—perfect for students pursuing careers in education, social work, child and youth care, or community development.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Program Planning**:
Develop detailed, age-appropriate plans for summer group activities, including goals, daily schedules, and materials required.
- **Logistical Coordination**:
Coordinate venues, transportation, supplies, and other logístical needs for all scheduled programs.
- **Facilitation**:
Lead and co-lead engaging group sessions for children and youth, fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment.
- **Team Collaboration**:
Work closely with fellow staff, volunteers, and community partners to ensure the smooth delivery of programming.
- **Adaptability**:
Participate in pilot initiatives that test new learning models and experiential activities aimed at helping youth discover new skills, interests, and potential.
- **Participant Support**:
Build positive relationships with participants, providing guidance, encouragement, and respectful behavior modeling.

**Qualifications**:

- Experience working with children and/or youth in group settings is preferred.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- A team player who thrives in dynamic, community-based environments.
- Creativity, enthusiasm, and a willingness to adapt and problem-solve.
- Current First Aid/CPR and a Vulnerable Sector Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Access to reliable transportation is an asset.

**Job Type**: Seasonal
Contract length: 14 weeks

Pay: $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week

Flexible language requirement:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
