**Roles and Responsibilities**

The Lead Competitive Coach is responsible for the Provincial Competitive stream coaching operations, administrative planning, and all stream-related daily administrative functions of the Club. Reporting to the Lead Technical Coach and working closely with the Board of Directors, responsibilities include:

- Communicate information to competitive families and act as the club liaison on all matters related to Competitive programs.
- Respond in a timely manner to questions and concerns from coaches and parents in the Competitive program as it relates to scheduling, competitions, processes, etc.
- Mentoring of Competitive coaches (including on-deck mentoring to oversee quality of training).
- Manage the club coaching calendar (which coaches and teams are at what pools, updating the club schedule for coaches etc.) based on regular coordination with the President/Pool Coordinator.
- In collaboration with the Lead Technical Coach and Lead Regional League Coach, hire Competitive and Regional League coaches including team coaches, technical support and extra routines coaches for the Competitive program.
- In collaboration with the Lead Technical Coach, participate in the selection of Competitive teams & extra routines.
- Lead the organization and scheduling of the Competitive extra routines and Master Competitive routines.
- Ensure follow-up in the event that a Competitive Coach requires a substitute coach and confirm that the substitute coach has the required qualifications.
- Manage the registration process for all provincial competitions in conjunction with the Club Registrars.
- Plan and lead coaching staff meetings including the coordination of agenda items
- Develop and deliver professional development sessions adapted to Competitive coach needs.
- Participate in professional development (OAS, CAS and any follow ups as needed).
- Collaborate with the Travel Coordinator to organize competition travel plans including developing and/or approving all schedules for the Competitive programs.
- Participate in competitive provincial competitions as the Lead representative for the Club including actively supporting and guiding coaches with different tasks during competition.
- Attend OAS Club and Coaches calls and share relevant information within the Club.
- Participate in monthly Board meetings and provide updates on Competitive program.
- Participate actively in the organization of the Winter and end of season water shows.
- In collaboration with the Regional League and Recreational Lead Coaches, organize and participate in the year-end athlete Competitive and Regional League program assessments.
- In collaboration with the Lead Technical Coach, organize and participate in the year-end High Performance athlete program assessments.
- Other duties as discussed with the Lead Technical Coach and Board of Directors.

**Expectations**:

- Previous experience coaching at the competitive or high performance level is required.
- In addition to the Lead Competitive Coach position, it is expected that the Lead also be on deck as a GO Capital Coach.
- Willingness and ability to attend practices at all GO Capital pool locations is required.
- This position requires strong organization, coordination, interpersonal and communication skills in addition to artistic swimming technical coaching skills to support club coaches in providing high-quality level coaching.

**The following qualifications are required and must be maintained for the season**:

- Competition Introduction, Competition Development, or higher, in compliance with Ontario and Canada Artistic Swimming (OAS and CAS) requirements.
- All required certifications and qualifications to be registered coach as per the CAS Coach Registration and Certification Policy.
- First Aid, NLS & CPR certifications would be an asset.
- In good standing with CAS and current Provincial Sport Organization.

**Compensation**:
This is a full-time position that includes both on-deck coaching and Lead responsibilities. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and the additional coaching load.
