Altea’s Pickleball Coaches are dedicated pickleball enthusiasts who provide high-quality instruction and coaching to players of all skill levels fostering a positive and inclusive environment. Coaches have in-depth knowledge of pickleball rules, techniques, and strategies, with an understanding of various instructional methods and best practices in coaching.

They develop and implement training programs, support with hosting clinics and events, and promoting the sport within the community. They teach fundamental skills, techniques and strategies of pickleball. Coaches provide individual feedback and group coaching to enhance player performance.

Altea’s Pickleball coaches ensure a safe and supportive training environment while promoting sportsmanship and respect among players. They support with community engagement, promoting pickleball through outreach initiatives and community events. Coaches also maintain accurate records progress and participation, assisting with scheduling, court booking and communication amongst players.

**As a Pickleball Coach a typical day might include the following**:

- Arrive early to set up the court, ensuring all equipment (nets, paddles, balls) is in good condition.
- Review the day’s lesson plans and any specific goals for the sessions.
- Lead a group warm-up to prepare players physically and mentally.
- Incorporate stretching and mobility exercises.
- Conduct a series of group lessons for different skill levels. This might include beginners learning basic strokes and advanced players focusing on strategy.
- Provide demonstrations and explanations of techniques.
- Conduct one-on-one lessons for players seeking personalized coaching.
- Focus on specific areas for improvement based on player goals.
- Update player records and attendance.
- Plan future sessions and communicate upcoming events or tournaments to players.
- Connect with parents or players to discuss progress or address any questions.

**To land this role you need to have;**
- Relevant coaching certification is required.
- Previous experience in coaching or teaching pickleball is preferred.
- Strong understanding of pickleball rules, strategies, and techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire players of all ages.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to demonstrate drills and play alongside participants.
- All team members must have current CPR/First Aid certification prior to start date and must be maintained throughout employment
- A recent Criminal Background Check prior to commencement of training and/or work.
