Diesel Shop Manager

We are family run operation who has built a reputation for excellence in the community over 30 years, and we are looking for a part time shop manager with the same qualities.

No two days are the same here; you may be in the shop one day performing an inspection and diagnostic on a tour bus, and then the next day you may be supporting another mechanic on-site battling the gremlins in one of our clients’ excavators Here’s a few of the finer points that we’ll also need you to bring to the table:

- **Education, Training, and Experience**_
- You could (and do) talk about heavy duty equipment all day every day, because you know it like the back of your hand
- Previous experience as a mechanic (and maybe a shop manager?); you will be able to jump right in and get your hands dirty
- Red Seal Certified would be extremely valued (shocker, right?)
- **Skill Requirements**_
- Excellent decision-making and leadership capabilities
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude, critical thinking and problem solving skills
- The devil is always in the details for you, and you love precision
- Adaptability & curiosity: continuous learner and sharer of knowledge
- **Core Duties & Responsibilities**_
- This part time role will have variable hours of around 20 per week, and may include more from time to time, dependent on client and shop needs
- Oversee our diesel mechanics and be a resource for them when they hit a snag or need added support
- Repairs, inspections, and troubleshooting on heavy duty equipment
- Assess training opportunities or gaps within mechanics and help build training programs for them
- Ordering parts where required and keeping an inventory on parts, tools, and supplies
- Managing customer relationship and ensuring consistent, clear, and professional communication is established and maintained with customers
- Some budget management
- Help to continue to develop and grow our company culture (we are a great place to work and continually strive to be even better)
- Perform quality inspections prior to returning the vehicle/equipment to the customer. We deliver excellence every time

**Job Types**: Permanent, Part-time
Part-time hours: 20 per week

**Salary**: $40.00-$45.00 per hour
