Warehouse and Logistics Assistant

Company Overview

Gunther’s Building Center is a leading supplier and distributor of interior finishing products, serving the Calgary marketplace for 68 years. We are proud to have one of Calgary’s largest inventories stored at our centrally located facility. GBC caters to single and multi-family residential building contractors and developers in the Calgary and surrounding area. We are currently searching for a full-time Warehouse and Logistics Assistant.

Position Description

Key

**Responsibilities**:

- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse/work environment.
- Pick, pack, and prepare materials for delivery, including door hardware, trim, and pre-hung doors.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles, ensuring accuracy and care of materials.
- Perform deliveries and pickups using a flatbed truck or cube van (Class 5 license required).
- Monitor and restock inventory to ensure warehouse operations run smoothly.
- Perform basic mechanical tasks or small repairs as needed.
- Operate forklifts (training provided if necessary).
- Assist in managing time effectively to support deliveries and warehouse tasks.

**Qualifications**:

- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving abstract (truck-driving experience preferred).
- Forklift experience is an asset (training available).
- Mechanical aptitude or experience with tools and small repairs is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting/moving heavy materials regularly.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently.
- A team player who takes pride in their work and maintains a professional image.
- Energetic, proactive, and enjoys variety in daily tasks.
- Thrives in a hands-on role where no two days are the same.

Job Details
- Type: Full-time
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts (no weekends)
- Starting Salary: $20-$23 per hour, depending on experience.
- Location: Calgary, AB (reliable commute required).

Application Requirements
- Applicants must hold a valid driver’s license and be prepared to provide a driver’s abstract upon request.
- Forklift certification or willingness to train is required.
- Applicants must be able to reliably commute or relocate to Calgary, AB before starting work.

Work Location: In person.

Pay: From $22.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
