Qualifications:

- Comprehensive understanding of the fresh produce industry, including types of fruits, their growth, ripening, handling, and distribution. Experience in inspecting different species of citrus, grapes, berries, stone fruits, and vegetables.
- Ability to assess and grade quality and condition of various fresh fruits and vegetables. Strong attention to detail to identify potential quality issues with products, their packaging, and storage. Capable of generating reports for any requested shipment that arrives or is in storage.
- Experience in evaluating product quality and familiarity with quality control standards. Familiarity with CFIA inspection procedures and surveyors' inspections for different fresh commodities.
- Strong problem-solving skills to identify and solve problems related to product quality, shipping, and distribution.
- Ability to manage repacking and sorting crews in case a product needs to be sorted/regraded.
- Physically fit and able to move boxes weighing over 30 pounds without difficulty.
- Ability to work in a cold environment (0°C / 4°C).
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and the ability to identify potential hazards in the workplace and take appropriate corrective actions.
- Effective collaboration and communication skills to work well with suppliers, shippers, and company members, and operate in a team environment.
- Familiarity with computer systems and software, including MS Office and spreadsheets, to keep track of inventory data.
- Proficient in safely and efficiently operating a power jack and willingness to pursue forklift certification.
- Committed to maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the warehouse and ensuring that all produce is handled and stored correctly to prevent contamination.

Education & Experience:

- College diploma in a related field (Agriculture, warehousing, and/or food safety).
- 2 to 3 years directly related industry experience (Fresh produce).
- Strong organizational, supervisory and people skills.
