**Back of House Support & Kitchen Support**

This role is important to the success to the overall café (Upstairs and Downstairs) Metropolis is a community hub and we take great pride in each and every customer experience. The Back of House

Support role is crucial for maintaining the efficiency and cleanliness of the café. Here's a breakdown of the

**Responsibilities**:
**Dish Management**
- Regularly empty dirty dish bins in both cafés and be mindful and practice gentleness to avoid breakage.
- Maintain a smooth flow of dishwashing activities for both the café and kitchen.
- Transport clean dishes to their designated storage areas.
- Table Clearing and Cleaning on both floors.
- Clear and wipe tables, ensuring a clean and inviting dining environment after customers leave.
- Contribute to an exceptional customer service experience.

**Overall Cleaning Assistance**:

- Sweep & help vacuum when needed. Cleaning Product Management:

- Ensure cleaning products and wash stations are fully stocked, including spray bottles and soap dispensers.
- Spot clean and at times deep clean areas behind café, service area and kitchen

**Self-Service/Water Station Maintenance**:

- Keep the self-service/water station well-stocked with milk, sugar, napkins, lids, glasses, and

maintain a clean tabletop.

Waste Management:

- Change all garbage inside the café and on the patio regularly.
- Manage the dish area, ensuring dishwasher dispensers are full, and the pit area and equipment

are spotless.

**Inventory Control**:

- Stamp and stock take-out containers.
- Ensure disposable cutlery is wrapped and ready for use in the kitchen and at the café.

**Plants & Other support (Occasional)**
- Check and water plans using water meter on both floors.
- Make and fill lemonade, syrups and other in house made supplies (i.e. candy cane sprinkles,

cutting fruit)
- Assisting with inventory counting to help Café Manager keep tabs on levels

Problem Solving and Prioritization:

- Identify and understand how to prioritize problems and challenges, café efficiency, flow, and overall company priorities. If a problem is brought to your attention, finding a manager to handle it in a timely manner.
- Demonstrate the ability to problem-solve under pressure while maintaining composure.
- Set an example for team members in dealing with customers.

This role plays a vital part in the overall success of the café by supporting various teams and ensuring a

clean and pleasant environment for both staff and customers. The constant navigation of stairs adds an additional element of physical demands to the role as the support is for both

Pay: $17.20-$17.50 per hour
