Jocelyn’s Independent Grocer is now hiring for a Deparment Manager in our Meat and Seafood Department. We are looking for an energetic, responsible self-starter that can manage the department and its staff effectively and represent the store with professional and Customer-First demeanor.

As a Department Manager, you must be able to:

- Ensure department standards, for presentation and operations are met. This includes cleaning and sanitation, food safety and food handling standards, inventory control, rotation and ordering.
- Maintain displays and merchandising on the sales floor.
- Reporting to the Owner. The Meat/Seafood Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the Meat department; including (but not limited to) sales, gross margin and other controllable expenses, department standards, inventory control, customer service, department production and merchandising.
- Proven leadership and direction to employees in accordance with polices, programs procedures, merchandising and overall expectations
- Professional communication with suppliers when dealing with orders, requests and reporting shortages/damages for credit
- Employee Relations: hiring, development, training, performance management, recognition, assigning duties, resolve issues as they arise
- Customer Relations: take orders for special requests, resolve complaints, creating displays for in-store events and promotions, ensuring stock levels and signage is proper
- Must have Butcher/Meat Cutting experience as we do cut meat for the sales floor and customer requests
- Must be able to work in refridgerated areas
- Be available for all shifts - Days, Evenings and Weekends
- Be able to lift 50 lbs and work in temperature controlled environments
