**About the Role**
We’re looking for a technician who will serve as a **Compliance Analyst** for the Canadian Region. Reporting to the Deputy Chief Compliance Officer for Canada, with a dotted line to the SVP & Associate General Counsel for Canada, this is the ideal role for a professional who is looking to play a role in executing a compliance framework that keeps pace with the continuous regulatory changes that occur across the country in property casualty, retirement, life and group benefits.
**What You’ll Do**
- Track carrier and MGA contracts (incl. Lloyds) and other carrier compliance matters such as due diligence checklists, audit recommendations, and compliance obligations
- Provide Compliance support for both carrier and regulatory audits
- Support Compliance harmonization as NFP Canada continues to acquire new firms and expand across the country
- Support the Legal and Compliance team to provide great customer service to internal stakeholders as well as meet regulatory deadlines
- Ensure completion of all broker-specific provincial Corporate and Individual regulatory requirements; ensure onboarding/offboarding for new and existing staff is completed in a timely manner
- Assist in the development of, roll out to the lines of business, and tracking Compliance standard operating procedures, and make recommendations for improvements to best practices
- Support the rollout and maintenance of policies, programs and procedures that advance NFP Canada’s compliance framework such as Privacy & CASL compliance, conflicts of interest, Fair Treatment of Consumers, Financial Crimes, etc.
- Build relationships with regulators as required
- Manage customer complaints, including privacy matters
- Complete Compliance audits including CE/license requirements for brokers and advisors
- Collaborate with the Deputy Chief Compliance Officer
**What You Bring**
- 5+ years’ experience in Underwriting, Brokerage or Carrier Operations, regulatory, accounting, wealth management, executive support or other business background
- Direct/relevant experience in commercial underwriting an asset
- Ability to research and review provincial and federal laws and regulations**;**appetite to learn
- Knowledge of the Retirement, Life, Group Benefits, and/or P&C insurance industry is preferred
- Effectively prioritize, manage and lead within scope of authority and escalate decisions appropriately
- Ability to set boundaries in terms of scope of work
- Ability to work with senior leaders
- Ability to execute on timelines for completion
- Practical and solutions-oriented, excellent analytic and organizational skills
- High ethical standards and commitment to confidentiality
- Ability to acquire Regulatory licensing status within a reasonable timeframe
