Delivery Driver

I’m seeking **full-time, part-time and casual-availability** drivers for the new school year.

Drivers pick up and deliver from a variety of downtown-located restaurants, deliver various personal/ retail deliveries for end-customers, and deliver flowers.

**Scheduling/ Hours**

I can make a weekly, regular schedule for part and full-time drivers that includes weekends or that stays within Monday to Friday.

**Big hours (65 max)** are available if desired. No minimum.

5:30 pm to 10 pm

4 pm to 9 pm

3 pm to 10 pm

5:30 pm to 8 pm

11 am to 7 pm

11 am to 10 pm

10:30 am to 5:30 pm

For part-time drivers, I can work around the set schedule of your day job, including complex shift-work schedules.

For drivers who have regularly changing availability, I can provide a weekly schedule based on a new availability that you communicate for each week.

Casuals/ occasionals. Casual availability couriers also play an important role for us. They can choose to offer their service for occasionally scheduled shifts, for coming on during delivery surges or for assisting with high-paying shopping or long-distance deliveries when it's too busy to spare a scheduled driver.

**Earnings **(the noted amounts are the driver’s “take-home”/ net profit after accounting for gas)

Couriers earn delivery fees and tips. Per-hour earnings (sum of deliv fees and tips) vary by how busy it is, and by variance in tips, so the noted amounts are per-hour earnings averages. Averages vary somewhat depending on the day of the week and by which part of the day the shift is in. Some drivers average somewhat more due to making better tips and by coming on for delivery “surges” and some average less due to the gas consumption of their vehicle.

Between 4 to 8:30 pm, drivers average **$22/ hr Friday to Sunday and $17/ hr Monday to Thursday, and $15/hr** at other times of the day Monday through Sunday

Hourly amounts reflect that there is some waiting in between deliveries on some shifts. While in motion, you can count on averaging at least **$26/ hr 4 to 8:30 Friday to Sunday and $22/ Monday to Thurs and $18-$19** at other times of the day Monday through Sunday. (when there is down time, you are free to do as you wish eg. read or use your phone, and you can “hold” or roam wherever you want to within the downtown vicinity)

Earnings can trend higher by an additional $3-$4/ hour for weeks at a time due to increased overall delivery volume.

Note, delivery fees were raised after March gas price increases.

**What I’m seeking/ is this a good fit for you?**
- you have a phone with a data plan
- a well-maintained vehicle or e-bike
- you enjoy driving and customer interactions
- are comfortable and confident behind the wheel (if you are not very, very comfortable driving; including in traffic, at night (for evening drivers) and in the (occasional) rain, and comfortable parallel parking, this is unfortunately not a good fit for you
- have work ethic (you don’t “cut corners” for procedures)
- reasonable amount of patience eg. 1. willing to carefully read training materials as well as the occasional detailed instruction from the dispatcher or myself. Eg. 2. you can handle waiting if the food is not ready in a restaurant
- reliable (you have a good employment record and references. Exceptions to a stable employment record and references can be made if there are convincing reasons for it. References not required if they are not possible eg. for individuals who are long-retired or who are coming over from a delivery app).

No experience required.

Drivers with significant delivery or courier experience are highly valued and may be eligible for a starting bonus or a somewhat higher delivery fee rate

SLC, Queen’s and RMC students, and retired individuals, are highly sought part-time drivers.

**Note to delivery app drivers** on some differences:

- it's not permitted to take delivery app deliveries during your shift with us
- with the exception of casual-availability couriers, it's not permitted to come and go as you like (you're expected to
