**About this Opportunity**
Girl Guides is looking for a strategic and creative communications professional skilled at developing compelling content and delivering on communications plans to engage our target audiences and inspire them to take action.
As a Communications Specialist, you will play a key role on a dynamic Marketing and Communications team that brings to life the programs and initiatives of our internal partners, all aimed at reaching caregivers, girls, volunteers and external stakeholders however and wherever they get their information about Girl Guides of Canada.
In this role, you will:
- Collaborate with internal GGC departments to help develop and execute internal/external communications plans and tactics to ensure project deliverables and communications needs for key initiatives and audiences are met.
- Provide guidance to staff and volunteers on communications best practices, and GGC’s brand standards and style guidelines.
- Ensure GGC’s brand standards, tone and voice are accurately represented in internal and external communications.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Communications team members to ensure a positive outcome to communications projects/campaigns and consistent key messages - with the goal of delivering world class communications assets.
- Post-secondary education in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or related field.
- 3+ years of communications experience.
- Outstanding writing and editing skills, with the ability to transform information for different audiences into clear, engaging content across a variety of communications tools and channels (e.g., print, web, video script, presentations, key messages, etc.).
- Exceptional ability to engage with a variety of teams and to translate requests into a multi-faceted communication offering.
- Experience implementing strategic communications plans and tactics across different audiences.
- Ability to explain communications strategy, tactics and best practices to internal clients and collaborate to achieve positive outcomes.
- Adaptable, flexible and diplomatic with a degree of comfort to change in projects and priorities.
- Adept at working collaboratively across a range of teams, including the ability to work with colleagues in remote offices.
- Excellent time-management skills and can work independently, managing multiple projects with different stakeholders.
Assets:
- Experience working in a non-profit or volunteer environment.
- French language skills/fluency (and any other language spoken in Canada).
Starting Salary: $55,231 annually
*Salary based on location, Greater Toronto Area
**This position will remain open until filled. Interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis.**
