Reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance, the Regional Controller is located within the regional dealership under their responsibility. This position requires the ability to meet deadlines, communicate concisely with the dealership leadership team and have a high degree of accuracy. The Controller will be privy to highly confidential information and will be accountable for a high level of discretion and maintaining privacy and confidentiality.
- Prepares a complete financial statement monthly according to dealership guidelines and within each manufacturer's format and time frame. Ensures that all manufacturer accounts, including warranty claims, rebates, interest protection and co-op advertising are current and accurate.
- Reviews the general ledger and scheduled accounts on a frequent basis. Notes any unusual entries and investigates.
- Coordinates annual audit (or review) and physical inventory.
- Continually strives to improve data integrity and information reporting throughout the dealership.
- Manages the day-to-day accounting operations of the store to ensure that all transactions are recorded in compliance with dealership accounting processes and policies.
- Manages vehicle contracts once initiated by sales consultant and ensure timely filing of them.
- Ensures that Retail Delivery Registration (RDR) takes place for each vehicle sold. This is registering the vehicle to the manufacturer.
- Ensures that all documents are fully completed and included in customer file.
- Stocks cars in DMS and other systems once they have arrived on site. (Inventory Team will do the purchasing and the flooring of these vehicles).
- Registers sold vehicles.
- Ensures that licensing for sold vehicles takes place in a timely manner by the administrative staff.
