**About this role**:
The Coordinator, Distribution Center (DC) is responsible for leading and executing daily floor operations within the warehouse. This role involves planning, initiating, and overseeing various tasks, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and customer requirements. The Coordinator acts as a coach-player, balancing hands-on tasks with supervisory duties, including training, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- **Daily Operations**:
- Execute the daily plan, obtain approval from the Manager, and ensure its effective implementation.
- Oversee and adjust assigned tasks for receiving, inventory control, shipment creation, picking, staging, and shipping.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety protocols, and maintain a secure, safe, and clean work environment.
- **Team Leadership**:
- Act as a coach-player, performing job assignments while supervising team activities.
- Follow and adjust metrics for productivity and quality.
- Model exemplary behavior and promote a collaborative team spirit.
- **Training and Development**:
- Conduct and coordinate technical training sessions as per the Logistics Career Development (LCD) program.
- Ensure that learned concepts are applied on the floor and provide backup support to the LCD Coordinator.
- Organize both classroom-style and on-the-job training, identify skill gaps, and evaluate training effectiveness.
- **Compliance and Quality Assurance**:
- Manage compliance with customer requirements and SLAs.
- Perform inventory integrity activities, cycle counting, and ensure accurate data entry in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- **Continuous Improvement**:
- Advocate for continuous improvement (CI) methodologies and standard practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues, including Blue Yonder WMS troubleshooting.
- **Reporting and Planning**:
- Open and close daily operations, report on metrics, and prepare initial plans for the next day.
- Coordinate with carriers and manage traffic/SOPs.
**Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)**
- Productivity and quality of own and team's work.
- Effective team collaboration and leadership.
- Adherence to health and safety standards.
**Qualifications and Experience**
**Education**: High School leaving certificate.
**Experience**:
- 3+ years in warehouse operations (receive-pick-pack-ship).
- 2+ years in a leadership role within a warehouse environment.
- 3+ years operating forklifts (Stand Up Reach and/or Order Picker an asset).
**Skills**:
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficient in WMS systems (Blue Yonder, Centiro) and basic data entry.
- Familiar with RF scanners and LMS.
- Good communication, presentation skills,
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand/walk all day, and adapt to change.

Pay: From $26.00 per hour
