**MANAGER, HEALTH STUDIES WORK INTEGRATED LEARNING**
**FACULTY OF HEALTH STUDIES**

We’re looking for someone to lead from where they are and find ways forward through leadership, effective management, and consistent process and productivity improvement for all Work Integrated Learning in the Faculty of Health Studies.
The WIL Manager is responsible for technology improvements, long-term strategic planning for the unit, leadership of the HCWIL team, ensuring government and accreditation requirements are met, and promoting employer-partner, student, faculty, and college leadership satisfaction and engagement.
**HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE**
- Leverage technologies to proactively manage pre-placement requirements and coordinate the scheduling of practicum resulting in operational efficiency.
- Ensure accurate, real-time reporting and analyses that improve decision-making for key WIL initiatives through automation of WIL experiences.
- Maintain and develop high-level relationships that promote multi-year, multi-program partnerships with stakeholders in institutional and community health settings to increase WIL opportunities for programs.
- Leverage technology and proficiency with databases to create operational efficiencies within the WIL team and WIL structure.
- Develop efficient, student-centred ways that integrate equity, diversity, and inclusion principles into the process of student placement while maintaining program standards.
- Liaise with placement sites and programs to develop alternative and innovative WIL opportunities.
- Provide leadership, and coordination of the WIL Team through mentorship, relevant training, and providing timely and accurate information and updates.
- Ensure that WIL strategies are compliant with college policies such as digital security and align with requirements for programs, sites, and accrediting bodies.
- Evaluate, develop and revise processes and systems to ensure optimal efficiency.
- Evaluate new clinical/placement sites for suitability and oversee the contract and documentation process for the timely acquisition and renewal of clinical and community placement sites.
- Promote positive relationships among the WIL team and with practicum sites, and stakeholders involved in the placement process.
- Maintain, coordinate, schedule, and create algorithms to manage after-hours on-call services for students and instructors; orientating managers and updating manuals regularly.
- Coordinate with WIL Nurse to strategically monitor, coordinate and communicate any new health requirements that impact WIL.
- Manage short and long-term strategic plans and annual business plans.
- Coordinate with WILCEC to write and champion college-wide policies and procedures and coordinate technology utilization.
**WHAT YOU BRING**
- Degree/Diploma in a related health field, degree preferred; equivalent experience may be considered
- 3+ years experience working with a work-integrated-learning framework and practicum placement process within an institutional/clinical setting as well as in a community health setting.
- Experience in clinical and community stakeholder relations, and partnership engagement.
- Advanced technology skills, proficiency with databases, MS Office, HSPnet, and learning management systems.
- 3+ years of progressive supervisory, management, and leadership experience in WIL.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to think critically and strategically.
- Experience working within a regulated environment and with health program accreditation.
- 3+ years in a health practice area and extensive knowledge and understanding of the health system.
- 3+ years of demonstrated experience in an adult education environment.
