Marriott Ottawa is preparing to begin a transformative, top-to-bottom renovation of all guestrooms, event space, restaurants and public areas, commencing in 2025, positioning the hotel to continue its storied legacy of hospitality excellence.

**YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE**:
Cashier functions
- Cash reconciliation and bank deposits.
- Manage cash over/short, due backs, change orders, issue/count floats, provide change, disburse and report petty cash.
- Monthly audit of associate’s house floats.

Accounts Payable Functions:

- Post invoices
- Review vendor statements
- Communicate with managers and vendors regarding invoice discrepancies.
- Prepare monthly accounts payable journal entries

Accounts Receivable Functions
- Billing/collection of groups and events as directed by AR Accountant.
- Research credit card chargebacks.
- Respond to customer/billing inquiries.

Other duties:

- Journal entry preparation and posting.
- Inventory counts.
- Balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Support receiving department.
- Maintain a positive attitude toward the hotel and the job being performed.
- Other duties as requested.

**JOB SPECIFICATIONS**:

- **Education and Experience**_
- Minimum of 2 years experience in hotel accounting preferably with experience in Payables and Receivables.
- Completed post-secondary education in Accounting or Finance.
- Systems experience in accounting, procurement, and other software.
- Experience in other hospitality-related departments a definite asset.
- **Skills and Abilities**_
- Intermediate to Advanced level MS Excel skills.
- Systems experience in accounting, procurement, and other software.
- Strong ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience in other hospitality-related departments a definite asset.
- Bilingualism (English & French) is preferred.
- Strong ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $54,000.00-$55,890.00 per year
