**Summary**: This position is funded through Ontario’s Job Creation Partnerships (see more details below). Administratively supports the Finance Manager with accounts payable and accounts receivable and other finance tasks as delegated.

**The Opportunity**

  • Assist with processing accounts payable in QuickBooks.
  • Assist with processing accounts receivable in QuickBooks.
  • Assist in ensuring all bill expenses have been correctly reviewed and approved by the appropriate manager(s).
  • File paid expense bills.
  • Assist in overseeing and drafting department budgets as requested by the Finance Manager.

**Skills and Qualifications Required**

  • Post-secondary education, ideally in a related field.
  • Computer literate with recent experience using MS Office programs.
  • Ability to work under pressure and on various projects simultaneously and autonomously.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Previous finance experience would be an asset.

**Additional Qualifications Required**

  • An unemployed job seeker or those employed less than 20 hours per week
  • A permanent resident living in Ontario who is legally authorized to work in Canada

- Have an active Employment Insurance (EI) claim **or**

  • Previously established an EI benefit period within the last five years **or**:
  • Paid employee payroll premiums (EI premiums - Box 18 on your T4) in at least three of the previous ten years (where earnings have been at least $2K in each of those years **or**:
  • Received the Employment Insurance Emergency Response benefit (CERB) within the previous five year

**NOTE 1**: Those registered in full-time academic studies are not eligible to be considered.

**Remuneration**

$662 (gross) per week for 32 hours / $20.6875 per hour provided by the Province of Ontario.

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract

Contract length: 6 months

Pay: $20.69 per hour

Expected hours: 32 per week

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Ottawa, ON K1N 6Z9
