Job Facilitator

**Overview**:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Job Facilitator for our neurodivergent student population. As a Job Facilitator, you will work closely with students with diverse abilities to develop their vocational skills, facilitate employment opportunities, and support their integration into the workforce. This role requires patience, empathy, and a commitment to fostering independence and self-confidence in our students.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Identify and secure job placements, internships, and volunteer opportunities aligned with students' interests and abilities.
- Foster positive relationships with employers, advocating for accommodations and providing ongoing support to ensure student success in the workplace.
- Leverage relationships with community networks to build relationships between the school and future partners, leading to more job placement for students.
- Provide resources to employers to enhance support networks for students transitioning to employment.
- Develop Individualized Job Profile (IJP) for students with special needs, tailored to their interests, abilities, and career goals.
- Provide hands-on instruction and support to students in various work settings, including job sites and simulated work environments.
- Assist students in acquiring essential job skills such as communication, time management, problem-solving, and workplace etiquette.
- Conduct assessments and progress evaluations to track students' development and adjust support strategies as needed.
- Offer guidance and mentorship to students, empowering them to overcome challenges and navigate the demands of the workplace.
- Identify and maximize individual strengths in the workplace.
- Help clients communicate and build relationships with employers, identify, and connect people with natural supports at work.
- Collects and maintains data pertaining to but not limited to attendance, employer satisfaction, self-satisfaction, social relationships, and training needs of the trainee.
- Collaborate and communicate with teachers and other staff members to create inclusive learning experiences that promote skill development and independence.
- Must report regularly and effectively communicate any changes and activities to the team.
- Stay informed about best practices in special education, vocational rehabilitation, and disability rights to ensure high-quality services and compliance with regulations.
- Capture and maintain summaries on a team-shared spreadsheet for easy access to information.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum college degree (DEC)
- Previous experience working with neurodivergent individuals, preferably in a vocational or employment support capacity is an asset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, employers, and other stakeholders.
- Flexibility, patience, and creativity in adapting support strategies to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Knowledge of local labor market trends and job search strategies for individuals with disabilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment, prioritizing the holistic well-being and development of students.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to multiple off-site job locations is required.
- Certification as a job coach or related credential is an asset.
- Bilingual in both English and French.
