**Overview STUDENT POSITION, GRADES 11 AND 12 (AT LEAST 16 YEARS OLD)**
Join our dedicated team as an Animal Caretaker and play a vital role in providing compassionate, high-quality care to a diverse range of animals. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work closely with animals, ensuring their well-being through attentive handling, proper feeding, and medical support. You will be a key contributor to maintaining a safe, clean, and nurturing environment that promotes health and happiness for all creatures in our care.

**Responsibilities**
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, watering, and cleaning enclosures to ensure optimal health and hygiene.
- Handle animals safely using appropriate restraint techniques to prevent injury and reduce stress during examinations or treatments.
- Assist veterinary staff with animal restraint, medication administration, and basic medical procedures following aseptic techniques.
- Monitor animal behavior and health status, promptly reporting any signs of illness or distress to veterinary professionals.
- Support medical staff with laboratory procedures, sample collection, and other diagnostic tasks as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of animal treatments, medication schedules, and behavioral observations in compliance with clinic protocols.
- Ensure the cleanliness of all animal housing areas and equipment to uphold safety standards and prevent infections.
- Handle a variety of species confidently, including dogs, cats, and small mammals.
- Contribute to a positive team environment by collaborating effectively with colleagues across departments to deliver exceptional pet care services.

**Skills**
- kennel experience or animal husbandry background is helpful, but we will teach you.
- excellent cleaning and organizational skills essential
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting animals safely and standing for extended periods while maintaining energetic engagement throughout your shift. **Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $16.60-$16.70 per hour

Expected hours: 3 - 10 per week
