Safety Officer

**Overview**
**Duties**
- Develop, implement, and monitor safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of job sites to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on safety practices, emergency procedures, and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to promote a culture of safety across all operations.
- Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, training sessions, and compliance audits.
- Investigate accidents or near-misses to determine root causes and implement preventive measures.
- Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to workplace safety.
- Utilize construction management software to track safety metrics and improve reporting processes.
**Qualifications**
- Proven experience as a Safety Officer or in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations applicable to construction sites.
- Familiarity with construction management software is preferred; experience in building effective safety programs is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively train employees at all levels.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for identifying potential hazards.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Relevant certifications in occupational health and safety (e.g., OSHA certification) are highly desirable.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract

Pay: $45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
Additional pay:
- Overtime pay
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
Work Location: In person
