- Excellent and professional written and oral communication skills
- Excellent safety reporting skills
- Above average observation skills
(to be able to recognize all workplace hazards and refer to OHSA regs)
- Be able to work within a team environment as well as work without supervision
- Be able to multi-task and meet deadlines as required
- Be able to take direction and learn from Senior Health and Safety Professionals
**KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Works to ensure compliance with all applicable legislation and fulfillment of contractual environmental, health and safety requirements at our external job sites
- Supports and provides recommendations on on-site health and safety matters.
- Monitors and enforces adherence to all applicable legislation and internal company policies
- Conducts site orientations and verifies worker training records
- Completes site inspections ensuring timely corrective action
- Create SWP’s for various construction activities
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines as required
- Maintains ongoing communication with management and all staff on all health and safety matters
**KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS**
- Strong knowledge of environmental, health and safety
- Computer proficiency
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Effective training and presentation skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to understand complex processes
- Must have experience working on construction job sites
**LICENSES AND/OR PROFESSIONAL ACCERDATION**
- NCSO Designation is preferred.
