Saba is a very busy café and bistro in bustling Fort Langley and we are looking for a full time head baker.

We are seeking an experienced and professional individual with attention to detail who is able to execute in a high volume and energetic environment.

The baker role includes (but is not limited to) the following:
**Responsibilities**:
Working independently to prepare and execute a variety of recipes for cakes, pastries, breads, scones, and tarts

Create and oversee a production schedule for the team, as well as manage, support and train the other bakers in their baking and quality standards.

Responsible for safe food handling and keeping food preparation areas clean. Take part in daily kitchen cleaning at the end of work shift.

Responsible for operating and monitoring the proper functioning of equipment

Must be able to execute consistently according to company branding, recipes and standards.

Must have a passion for developing new savoury and pastry products alongside the owner/head chef

Qualifications:
Must have knowledge and expertise in baking and pastry

Must have passion for team building and excellent communication skills

Track record of setting and consistently achieving quality standards as per company standards and branding

At least 5 years previous experience as pastry chef/baker

Cook trade certification or equivalent training and experience.

This is a permanent, full-time salaried position.
Salary range is $48,000- $58,000 based on experience.
