A typical day for the Learning & Development Advisor
**Instructional Design and Facilitation**:
- Design training (synchronous and asynchronous) and education materials using instructional design models, learning theories, and technological solutions
- Design activities, exercises and learning solutions to support learning and education
- Develop eLearning based courses
- Facilitating training sessions to onboard new hires and support the ongoing development of APS employees
**Material Development**:
- Write process documentation
- Update and maintain learning material
- Write and develop training materials including visual aids, activities, employee workbooks and facilitator guides
**Consultation**:
- Consult with business units and managers to assess employee development needs, performance gaps, and business objectives
- Analyze business needs and determine appropriate learning solutions
- Obtain and analyze user feedback
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree and 2 years experience in Adult Education and Instructional Design
- Minimum 3 years experience in facilitation
- Superior communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient in Articulate (Rise, Storyline) and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- Knowledge of Pension Plans and procedures for a broad range of APS business units considered an asset
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external partners
- Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license; use of a personal vehicle is required
- Travel within Alberta is a requirement of this position.
