Metro Wallcoverings, the leading distributor of decorative commercial products to the Architect and Design community for over forty years is looking for a Junior Financial Analyst for its Toronto headquarters location. - Analyze, monitor, maintain, and reconcile accounting transactions related to general ledger accounts - Assist with month-end closing, reporting, variance analysis, and other related duties - Preparation, analysis, and reporting of monthly department expense reviews (actual vs. budget vs. prior year) through partnership with department managers and other stakeholders - Partner with and support for Company departments during times of Monthly/Quarterly/Annual Review and Year-End Audit be external auditors, including updating schedules and performing final reconciliation on various accounts as needed - Analyze open orders, inventory levels and provide regular updates on progress - Analysis of sales, margins, pricing, profitability, and other P & L related activities - Track progress of financial and accounting objectives related to responsibilities and/or special projects - Weekly expense and reimbursement processing - Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, US GAAP, JSOX, or any other laws and regulations, as applicable - Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports as assigned - Backup for Accounting Team members, as needed - Perform any special projects or tasks as assigned by the Division Controller on an as needed basis We require: - Strong attention to detail - Persistent, curious, forward-thinking - Efficient time management and organizational skills - Effective team player with strong communication skills and positive "can-do" attitude - Strong analytical skills to research and solve problems - Desire to improve the "status quo" - Desire to develop professional skills through continuous learning Education & Experience: - Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or related business field - Proficiency with Microsoft Office products; Proficiency with Excel required - Must be able to work independently, at times, and with limited direction - Prior experience working in an accounting related field considered an asset **Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $48,000.00-$50,000.00 per year **Benefits**: - Company pension - Dental care - Employee assistance program - Extended health care - Life insurance - Paid time off - Vision care Schedule: - 8 hour shift - Monday to Friday Ability to commute/relocate: - Concord, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required) **Education**: - Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
