Scope: Administers accounting and financial policies, procedures and practices to ensure adequate control, recording, reporting and analysis of the Company's business transactions, operating results, assets and liabilities.

Skills and Qualifications

Education: Accounting designation (CA/CMA/CGA)

Experience: 5 + years of accounting and administrative experience is required, preferably in the automotive industry. Knowledge of SAP Systems and Information Systems, with implementation experience.

Technical Skills: Must be able to create Spreadsheets/Presentations. Must be able to interpret financial statements with strong variance analysis. Strong knowledge of SAP, and Hyperion. Excellent communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of the Financial Analyst are detailed below, but not limited to the following:

· Maintains the General Ledger and other general accounting records and related controls and ensures the application of proper accounting and clerical methods and systems.

· Maintains cost accounting records and ensures adherence to the cost accounting system.

· Assumes responsibility for resolving monthly differences between the SAP system Hyperion, and the sub ledger and GL. Issues causing differences should be documented and resolved within the following month.

· Ensure Proper treatment and follow Hanon accounting principles.

· Lead Month End process and activities

· Review the monthly COGS entries to ensure that inventory and P&L accounts are adjusted correctly

· Track KPI's

· Ensure that the sub ledger and GL are in balance

· Review/adjust the inventory provisions

· Review the variance accounts to establish root causes for variances (PPV, Usage, Scrap, Labour Efficiency and Overhead) and prepare explanations for manufacturing/materials staff to highlight and assist in problem resolution.

· Assist in the preparation/analysis/submission of the monthly package and reporting with emphasis on ensuring that variances are accurately reflected.

· Analyze foreign exposure and prepare template for FX Heading.

· Preparation of year end working papers

· Support GST files

· Liaison with external auditors for year-end audit.

· Co-coordinating tax entries and liaison with external tax consultants.

· Ensure internal controls are maintained

· Oversee the preparation of, consolidate, and analyze monthly financial statements and present them to the Controller.

· Possibly work irregular hours to meet month end requirements and departmental demands

· Special projects/duties as assigned by Divisional Controller

· Works independently, setting own pace and schedule, adhering to financial deadlines.

· General Duties

· Lead and support quality audits.

· Perform any other assignments from time-to-time as management so directs.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Types: Permanent, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 6 months

Pay: $59,313.84-$80,861.76 per year
